SHSAT (Specialized High Schools Admissions Test)

    The Specialized High Schools are well known for their excellence in education and the achievements of their graduates. Admission to these schools is based entirely on the New York City Specialized High School Admissions Test (SHSAT). Each year over 45,000 students compete for the limited number of seats available in these specialized schools. To have any real chance, students must be adequately prepared for this exam.
    In order to meet the individual needs of the student, Brienza's Academic Adventage offers 3 options to prepare for this exam.

    Brienza’s One-to-One Instruction
    This SHSAT prep program will be customized to the student's particular learning style and move at the student's own pace.

    Intensive Group Prep
    Intensive Prep: July 7th - October 22nd
    30 hours of instruction - 9 hours of testing

    Summer/Fall Preps
    Several courses available

    Exam Prep
    • Group or individual instruction
    • Students learn key skills and strategies in working with scrambled paragraphs, logical reasoning and reading comprehension
    • Students receive in depth review of skills and concepts related to computation, algebra, and geometry
    • Classes include diagnostic testing and additional practice exams
