About Us

My name is Lillian Brienza and I am the founder and owner of Brienza’s Academic Advantage.  I began my educational career as a teacher over thirty years ago.  As an educator and a parent, I saw the need for providing students and their families with additional support outside of what was being offered in schools.  Brienza’s Academic Advantage began as a tutoring company that specialized in one-to-one tutoring and test preparation courses, but as my company’s reputation for providing excellent programs grew, so did the services we offered.  We continue to provide an array of services to students, but we also offer a multitude of programs to teachers and parents.

We currently hold contracts with several educational departments including the New York State, New York City, New Jersey and Massachusetts Departments of Education.  Under these contracts we provide educational programs to students and we provide teachers with extensive trainings in different areas of education. 

I continually look to provide my students and their families with the most effective and innovative programs.  Our newest program is Tune in to Reading.  This program is intended to build a child’s fluency.  The results I have seen with this program are amazing; students on average gain over a year in their reading level after attending the program for just nine weeks!

Regardless of how large my company becomes, I will remain steadfast in upholding the goals I established over sixteen years ago when I began my company.  My goals are to provide students with educational opportunities that enable them to reach their full potential while also fostering their self confidence.  It is easy to maintain focused on these goals because I look at my company, and the services we provide, through the eyes of both an educator and a parent.
